One day, we may need to rent the place for a month. Even with all the snow and cold temps that we had in February, it was still one of the most relaxing stays out of the prior nine visits that we have had.
Love you guys and hope you are able to pass the music around. New release should be ready by our next visit and will feature the Inn in some ways. The songs Relax and Unpaved Roads were inspiried by our many visits up north. More to come.
Stay warm!!
Wow!!! What a fantastic stay we had at The Inn at Black Star Farms. After our long journey we were greeted so cheerfully by Kari who led us into the lounge where a nice glass of wine awaited us along with a giant platter of tender lamb chops and a bowl of ceviche. Yum! The two chefs, Chef John and Chef Corey served "off the charts" breakfasts. I think it's a real testament to how good the food looks and tastes when the Inn guests pull out their cameras to take pictures of their food.
The entire staff should be commended for making our stay restful, stress free, fun and and just plain comfortable. It's so obvious that they really like their jobs. That says a lot.
The atmosphere surrounding the entire property is, in a word, perfect.
By the way, the coffee was great – strong and flavorful. Just how we like it. And that's important.
Thank you!
Hello Kim and George,
Thank you so much for your comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again soon!
The Inn staff
Recently I had the most wonderful stay at the Inn at Black Star Farms! Every member of the staff is exceptional, and absolute masters of cordiality, warmth. and hospitality. The food prepared by both John and Corey was fresh, flavorful, and beautiful.
My room was luxurious, yet so cozy and comfortable. My fellow guests all seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as I was. We had plenty of privacy, but it was pleasant to chat with folks at breakfast or cocktail (WINE!) hour. We were all basking in a pampered glow!
Many thanks for creating this outpost of beauty and charm in one of my favorite places in the world, the Leelanau Peninsula.
Oh, the Creamery and Winery Tasting Room are not to be missed. They are unique and the quality of their offerings is superb.
Thanks again for many treasured memories.
Thank you Claudia. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and are looking forward to seeing you again in the future.
Regards,
The Inn Staff at Black Star Farms
Thanks to all at the Inn for another wonderful visit. Our second stay (with multiple tasting visits in between) was a wonderful, relaxing escape. The emphasis on locally grown products and the focus on quality were clearly evident in the wine, the cheese, the meats, and the vegetables. We were overwhelmed with the clear focus Black Star places on the freshness of everything.
From Kelly's gracious welcome and help to Street and Paul's wonderful meals, you have made many new memories for us and even more reasons to return. We were guests but we felt like we were treated like family.
We are already planning our next visit and stay.
Thank you again for all your warmth and commitment.
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and making our anniversary weekend a weekend to remember. It was our first time to a bed and breakfast, winery, and Traverse City. It was truely a great experience and we are definately going to return with some friends next time !!
Our 10th stay at the Inn was the best. What a better way to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary with a week long stay.
Again, we were treated like Queens and Kings and Street really caught us with his pancakes and the sausage gravy. And high fives for the cheesecake.
Jill and Kelly are the hostess with the mostest and even after 10 trips to the Inn, we cannot wait for the 11th.
You guys are just like family now and we are very gracious for the continued hospitality.
Thank you for such a lovely, relaxing weekend. Every aspect of our visit was perfect. The room, the food, the farm, the winery, the staff – were all 10's…can hardly wait to come back in the fall. Just outstanding!
Thanks so much for your kind words Betty! It was great to meet you and Mike last weekend. We look forward to seeing you in a few months. Cheers! Kellie
The experience was devine! Jill the innkeeper was helpful in making arrangements and was an outstanding host during hospitality hour. Stephanie, the inn chef, prepared incredible gourmet breakfasts, each one better than the last! As if the winery and creamery, with it's award winning Blackstar wines and Leelanau cheese, isn't enough of a reason to visit. Be sure to try the woodfired pizza at Hearth & Vine Cafe. We have stayed many different places worldwide and Blackstar Inn is not to be missed. We are already looking forward to our next stay. Thanks so much!!
Thank you Susan and Dave. We look forward to seeing you again!
Take Care,
Jill Ryan – Innkeeper at Black Star Farms
