~~~Heard about you today on Jane DeGrow's radio
program. Since I've lived in Michigan only seven
years, I don't know where ANYTHING is. Could
you give me directions from Lansing to your digs?
~~~After I saw John Gielgud force port on Norma
Shearer, and the same with Charles Laughton and
Jennifer Jones, I was dying for years to try port
to see if it was worth all the fuss. Finally
found some a couple months ago at the L&L Grocery
(where, I fear, true wine connoisseurs would never
tread). Wow! Delicious! John and Charles could
make me drink THAT any day of the week. Port
could easily turn me into an alcoholic, except
for the fact that I take my dose of red wine
every 2 or 3 days out of a little shot glass that
holds only 2 tablespoonfuls. That little bit
makes me fuzzy all over and weak in the knees.
I'm a sad case! Not worth saving!
~~~My question is: (a really dumb one, I'm sure),
Is port considered red wine? I have read that
a little wine is supposed to be good for one's
health. Can I cheat with port? It's too good
to be true.
~~~I cut out Frank Sutherland's column on wine
every Monday from the Lansing State Journal.
Also, bought "The Wine Bible" by Karen MacNeil.
One might say I'm taking Wine 101. Hic!
~~~Oh! The two movies I mentioned were about
Elizabeth Barrett Browning—-not to be missed!
Although they were identical, they were both
fascinating.
~~~From what I heard on Jane's program, your
place sounds delightful. If I ever rob a bank
and the river doesn't rise, maybe I'll mosey up
there sometime.
~~~Sincerely,
