Winemaker Lee Lutes returned from this year's Riesling Rendezvous in Washington even more excited about this noble grape. He's quoted by Cari Noga in Crain's Detroit Business:
“It’s the one grape variety that is regularly allowing Michigan to take a national spotlight,” said Lee Lutes, winemaker at Black Star Farms and another participant. “It has more pedigree and it has more consistency and more of a quality dynamic than anything else that’s produced.”
His enthusiasm shows in the medals collected at this week's Michigan Wine Competion - bringing home a Silver for '07 Arcturos Late Harvest Riesling and three Bronzes for '07 A Capella Riesling Ice Wine, '07 Arcturos Semi-Dry Riesling, and '07 Arcturos Dy Riesling.

YOUR LATE HARVEST RIESLING IS ABSOLUTELY MY VERY FAVORITE WINE. I DON'T EVEN BOTHER DRINKING ANYTHING ELSE. I'M SO GLAD I CAN FIND IT IN SO MANY PLACES.
