Wheel Winner

Back in April Rachel Nighswonger was the big winner on Wheel of Fortune, and it was our good fortune that one of her prizes was a 6-night stay at Black Star Farms.

She and her mom, Betsy, have spent the past week with us at the Inn, relaxing and soaking up all that is the Grand Traverse area.  As this was their first visit to Michigan they didn't know what to expect, but they'd done their Internet homework and wanted to pack in as much as possible - Sleeping Bear Dunes, Fishtown,  Suttons Bay Art Fair, kayaking, wine tasting and shopping were a few of their activities.   Rachel was even interviewed for a story in our local weekly Leelanau Enterprise.

Rachel, a special ed teacher from Kansas City, MO, said she's been a "Wheel Watcher" for most of her life.  When the Wheelmobile came to town she and a friend stood in line for an audition.  Rachel passed two auditions and went on to California to participate in Wheel's annual "Green Week."  Black Star Farms had been approached to provide a prize after being named one of BedandBreakfast.com's Top Ten Eco-Friendly Inns.  Little did we know that we'd be chosen, that someone would land on our prize and win, and that such an interesting gal would show up to enjoy all that the Leelanau Peninsula has to offer.

It's been 2 months since our trip to Black Star Farms, and my mom and I still tell everyone about our fabulous stay in Michigan! Thanks for the deluxe accommodations, friendly staff, and scrumptious meals. Everything was wonderful! I hope to make a trip to Suttons Bay and Black Star Farms again some day! Sincerely, Rachel N
