Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award

Black Star Farms management has successfully created a workplace that does more than just improve productivity; it has also built a strong organizational culture that supports the company itself. The recently awarded Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award is designed to recognize organizations for their efforts to foster employee health and well-being while enhancing organizational performance.

Don Coe with Dr. Terry BraciszewskiPsychologically Healthy Workplace Awards have been presented to organizations by state, provincial and territorial psychological associations with support from the American Psychological Association. The award program highlights a variety of workplaces, large and small, profit and non-profit, in diverse geographical settings. Applicants are evaluated on their efforts in these five areas: employee involvement work-life balance, employee growth, health and safety, and employee recognition. The state-level award program has been extremely successful, with participation growing to 51 associations across the U.S. and Canada. Collectively, more than more than 350 organizations have been recognized at the state level.

Mari Monda Zdunic Clinic

The Stables is hosting a Dressage Clinic with top dressage trainer Mari Monda Zdunic. Mari, who competed in the 1980 Olympic Trials and the 1981 World Championship Trials, is the owner/trainer at Shine-A-Bit Farm in Brighton, MI.

Although her focus is dressage, Mari welcomes a variety of riders (e.g., children, beginners, hunter/jumpers, trail riders, western.) Lessons are packed with information, but fun and supportive in nature. The end goal is always to make a happy horse and rider team.
