Flavor and Aroma:
This is a lighter style barrel aged Chardonnay. Citrus notes are found in the nose and most of the flavor profile. There are also flavors of fresh apples and
subtle barrel spice in the finish. The wine is smooth and well balanced, with a touch of richness on the palate.

Aging Potential:
Although our white wines typically age well, we recommend drinking this wine within the next 2-3 years.

Thoughts for Food:
This wine would be well complemented by a meal involving poultry, pork or seafood cooked in its own juices, or a white wine reduction. There is also a great acidity in this wine that would make it a nice match for a cream based pasta or bisque inspired soup.

Wine Maker Comments:
Our barrel fermented Chardonnay program continues to be one which we model after the great white wines of Burgundy. We go to great lengths to ferment the juice in small lots, utilize a multitude of different yeasts, all fermented very slowly in a temperature controlled environment, with the barrels stirred on a bi-weekly basis for the first 3-4 months of the wines early development. Because this wine is a lighter, more casual style Chardonnay we decided to give it a more modest label. What this means for the consumer, is a great value on a beautifully drinking wine! It is a wine we are still proud of, even though it suffers from the stigma of being a 2009. I hope you enjoy it!
