The October issue of Cooking Light features its first-ever Taste Test Awards – “The Tasties.” The editors tested 200 food products and came up with the best-tasting winners in 32 categories. Twenty-six of the categories feature grocery store products while six showcase artisanal standouts. Our Leelanau Cheese Comapny’s Raclette topped the Artisinal Cheese list.
Cooking Light? Full-fat cow’s milk cheese? They note: “Not all products are low fat. Some higher fat items are on the list because of their superior quality and taste.” Everything in moderation…and a glass of wine.

My husband and I really enjoy your Raclette which we buy at the General Store in Petoskey when it is available. Unfortunately the store did not have any in stock on our last visit. We look forward to enjoying it whenever we are able to purchase some.
This time of year the cheese is only sold in our Suttons Bay tasting room or at TASTES in the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. Look for it in Petoskey again around Thanksgiving. Visit the creamery section of our website for more information.
We visted last fall and we loved the cheese we tasted. It was a white creamy cheese. Could we possibly order some?
Deborah,
Thanks for the nice comments about the cheese. I believe you are refering to the Raclette Cheese. There is also a Fromage Blance that is a spreadable cheese. You can order directly from the creamery on the website here, http://www.blackstarfarms.com/creamery/ . If you have any other questions please contact the creamery at 231-271-2600.
