Sirius White Dessert Wine - Out of Stock
Known as ratafia in France, this lightly sweet cordial is the essence of pure Chardonnay fruit: juice that is pressed off this noble grape at the peak of ripeness fortified with brandy distilled from the same juice.
| Appellation: | Non recognized, Old Mission Peninsula fruit | | Blend: | Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc | | Harvest: | 10/20/06 | | Bottling: | 4/18/07, 162 cases, 16% alcohol, 8% residual sugar | | Price: | $19.50 |
Flavor and Aroma:
Because it is unfermented, you'll taste the warm, rich flavor of the pure fruit on your palate. The aroma is honeyed and exotic, with Asian spice overtones.
Aging Potential:
Enjoy this wine for the next five to ten years.
Thoughts for Food:
This cordial can be served as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to almost any dessert. Vanilla, fruit, and nuts pair especially well, as do ripe, creamy cheeses.
Wine Maker Comments:
Inspired by the Pineau des Charentes wines of the Rhone Valley as well as by the Ratafia wines of Champagne, this white cordial is beautiful as an aperitif or as a casual, sweeter digestif.
