  • DiningHearth & Vine, our on-site vineyard cafe, market and bakery, has closed for the season. Please look for us again mid-May. Black Star Farms hosts 9 Bean Rows at our Suttons Bay location. It’s here at Hearth & Vine that their wood-fired breads and pastries are produced, vegetables are grown and stored, and members of the community can join the 9 Bean Rows CSA (community supported agriculture) to purchase “shares” of these offerings.   • WeddingsYou are welcome to host your event at our unique property, Black Star Farms. Whether you are planning a meeting, a small gathering or a big celebration, we have the venue at our Suttons Bay farm to fit your needs. The Inn boasts a large colonnaded room that can accommodate up to 140 for sit-down dining. Plus, a dance floor can be added. The Inn also has large reception spaces both indoors and out. Our Tasting Room is available for private after-hours functions and can host your group from 8 to 80. Hearth & Vine, our vineyard cafe, can also be selected for your group’s pleasure, especially during the late autumn to late spring months while the cafe is not open to the public. It seats 22 inside and also has a large flagstone patio for outdoor seating if the weather allows. Its wood-fired oven makes this a welcoming spot. Planning a small gathering in Traverse City? Our Tasting Room – TASTES – in the Mercato at the Village of Grand Traverse Commons is also an available venue. VINEYARD DINING

Experience an extraordinary Harvest Dinner at Black Star Farms Suttons Bay in the heart of Northern Michigan Wine Country.  During the summer months these exquisite dinners are held atop our lush estate vineyard with scenic views of Grand Traverse Bay and the gorgeous rolling countryside of the Leelanau Peninsula.  Our creative farmstead cuisine is inspired by the best locally sourced ingredients, expertly paired with Black Star Farms wines.  Seasonal vegetables, fruits and proteins are sourced from our area’s finest farms including our own.

 The evening begins at 6:00 PM with a welcoming reception featuring a specialty-themed craft cocktail. Dinner is served at elegant communal tables where conversations and striking up new friendships are encouraged. During service our chef will share the inspiration behind the evening’s menu and a winery representative will talk about the wine pairings and share updates on new releases and vintages.

Prices are per person and include welcome cocktail, dinner, wine pairings, tax & service fee.

  • Strawberries & Rhubarb, In the Vineyard ~ Wednesday, June 12 ~ *Dine al fresco in our budding estate vineyard with views of Grand Traverse Bay! This month’s menu will pay homage to early summer strawberries and rhubarb. Lee Lutes, Head Winemaker, will present the wine pairings with each course. $125
  • Cherries & Honey, In the Vineyard ~ Wednesday, July 10 ~  *Dine al fresco in our lush estate vineyard with views of Grand Traverse Bay! This month’s menu will pay homage to local honey and of course, cherries!  $125
  • Chef’s Garden, In the Vineyard ~ Wednesday, August 14 ~ *Dine al fresco in our lush estate vineyard with views of Grand Traverse Bay!  At 6 PM join us for an optional tour and presentation of our Chef’s Garden, at 6:30 PM head to the vineyard for a cocktail reception. Dinner, featuring the bounty growing right on our winery estate, follows at 7 PM.  $125, view menu

*Weather dependent, we will be atop the vineyard! In the event of cold temperatures and rain, your comfort is important to us, and we will move the event indoors our luxurious Inn.

*Please note that due to the nature of these special dinners, menu substitutions, with the exception of food allergies, can not be accommodated.
