Our Farm

If you are seeking majestic beauty, vineyards and a unique pastoral farm setting, come to Black Star Farms and all your senses will be ignited. The family owned, 160-acre estate is renowned for its palatial red Inn, stables, barns with outlying paddocks, award-winning winery, tasting room and a farm-to-table cafe.

A variety of hiking trails entice you to come walk, ski or snowshoe through a hardwood forest of towering pines, alongside orchards and atop our estate vineyard overlooking West Grand Traverse Bay.

Sit on the patio at the seasonal Hearth & Vine Cafe and enjoy some of the region’s best farm-to-table cuisine. Or come inside to watch a gourmet pizza go in our wood-fired oven!

There is much to do on our unique property just off M-22, fifteen minutes from downtown Traverse City.

We welcome Inn guests to stable their horses and use our equestrian facilities during their stay, if space is available.

Private boarding may be available. The stables provide stalls for 13 horses with turnout paddocks and pastures. The gorgeous facility is designed for training with indoor and outdoor arenas. An extensive trail system is also available for riding around our scenic property. Boarders may have use of our clubhouse viewing lounge overlooking the indoor arena.

For information regarding availability of boarding stalls, please contact our stables manager at [email protected]

We invite you to come visit, stay in our Inn, join in a Harvest Dinner, take a cooking class with our critically acclaimed culinary team, taste our international award-winning wines…and explore the possibilities.
